Push past your limits
You do not know what you are capable of unless you go for it. This is Milo, whose paw print inspired the Missing Link logo, consoling me after a DNF at Mile 80 of the Superior 100.
My start in ultramarathons came when a friend dared me to run the Moose Mountain Marathon, part of the Superior Trail Races in northern Minnesota. It felt impossible, but every time I wanted to quit I was inspired by runners in the 100 mile field who had already been moving for 24 hours.
Seeing the community around a historic 100 miler and how the loudest cheers were for the final finisher hooked me for good. I have since completed dozens of ultramarathons, including the Superior 100.
I began coaching trail running in 2009 and found just as much satisfaction in helping others achieve their goals as I do in reaching my own finish lines. I was certified as an ultramarathon coach through the Ultra Endurance Sports Coaching Academy in 2021.
I keep a limited roster for one-on-one coaching and race planning services. Join the club for a run, or reach out if you want to talk about coaching support.

Superior 100 finish. My first 100 miler and the race that cemented how much this community means to me.
Whether it is a sunrise solo run on single track or a group session through the woods, the trail is where it all comes together.
Hanging out at the Loopet Loppet, the first ultra race that I created and directed.
